Who Will Win Celebrity Race Across The World 2024?

It's all change on betting sites after an incredible fourth episode of Celebrity Race Across The World.

The show sees four star-studded pairings quite literally race across the world, aiming to get from one checkpoint to another on a limited budget and without the use of mobile phones or air travel.

Last week, the four teams - broadcaster Jeff Brazier and his son Freddie, Ted Lasso actor Kola Bokinni and his cousin Mary Ellen, model and broadcaster Kelly Brook and her husband Jeremy Parisi, and Radio 2 host Scott Mills and his husband Sam Vaughan - reached the third checkpoint, Sao Paulo, in Brazil, at the halfway stage.

This week, they were tasked with making an epic 2,250km journey from Sao Paulo to the fourth checkpoint, Tigre in Argentina - and it proved to be a game-changer.

Scott And Sam Shock Leaders

Jeff and Freddie held a solid lead last week, but Kelly vowed to hunt the father and son duo down.

While she and Jeremy did just that, the pair aren't top of the leaderboard, after Scott and Sam arrived at the fourth checkpoint in first place, seven hours ahead of them.

Scott and Sam were stunned to be first after clawing back a massive 26-hour deficit in the last two legs.

In the latest episode, the teams could travel via Uruguay on their way to Tigre, or go through western Brazil to make an early break for the Argentine border.

Scott and Sam began leg four by taking a train, and they admitted it made a huge difference from being on another bus.

However, their joy was short-lived as they soon took a mammoth 27-hour bus journey via Uruguay.

Towards the end of the leg, the pair splashed out £177 on a three-hour ferry, rather than take a 12-hour bus, to get nearer to the checkpoint.

While Scott admitted he was “nervous” about their splurge, it paid off and they reached the checkpoint first with 29 per cent of their budget remaining.

Scott and Sam are into 11/8 on betting apps to win the series, from 3/1 last week, but they are just behind favourites Kelly and Jeremy in the market.

Kelly And Jeremy's Favourite Leg

Throughout most of the episode, Kelly and Jeremy looked like they might end the fourth leg in the lead.

The married couple travelled via the spectacular Iguazu Falls, courtesy of a 16-hour bus journey, and they were the first team to enter Argentina.

However, there were downs as well as ups, when Kelly wasn't happy with Jeremy for checking into a room when she had found a better option.

She told him: "You've got a lovely cheap room and a miserable wife, so well done."

However, the pair soon got back on track when they had some traditional Argentine Tango lessons, as they took some time out from the race.

Jeremy admitted he loved learning the Tango, because he "completely forgot about the race", and at the end of the episode they both admitted it was their favourite leg of the trip so far.

They headed to the checkpoint in a thunderstorm and are sitting in second spot, with 30 per cent of their budget remaining, but they have plenty of potential to take the lead.

While they are seven hours behind Scott and Sam, the latter pair have proved that means nothing in this show.

Kelly and Jeremy are the narrow Evens favourites on new betting sites to win the race, from 15/8 last week.

Before the fourth episode, Jeff and Freddie had led for two legs, but their latest jaunt was a disaster.

They headed to Tigre via Paraguay but got off to a terrible start when they had to wait six hours for a bus, and when in Paraguay they faced a seven-hour wait for a bus.

They're now fourth in the race, but it's not known how far behind they are because the pair got lost in their water taxi just metres away from the checkpoint, and the credits rolled before their time was revealed.

Freddie admitted the boat ride "summed up" their leg.

Kola's Passport Disaster

Jeff and Freddie are now 2/1 third favourites on specials betting sites, from 4/6 last week, and Kola and Mary Ellen aren't far behind them at 5/2 - despite a "car crash" of a leg.

At the beginning of the episode, Kola admitted he was optimistic about this leg, and they started off proceedings with a 21-hour, 1,100km journey to Brazil's Porto Alegre - because there was a St Patrick's Day party they wanted to attend there.

However, it turned out to be a disastrous decision as half-Irish Kola - who has an Irish mum and a Nigerian dad - and Mary Ellen missed out on the celebrations after their bus broke down en route.

Mary Ellen admitted it was "heart-breaking" to arrive late, because they had planned their whole journey around the bash.

Further disaster struck later, when Kola realised he had left his passport on a bus.

They had to leave a job early to move on to the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo to retrieve the lost passport.

Despite getting his document back, Kola admitted the leg had been a "car crash", but they were pleasantly surprised to be third rather than fourth.

The pair are 10 hours behind first-placed Scott and Sam, but only have 19 per cent of their budget remaining. It’s all to play for heading into the fifth episode.
