Leeds’ failure to make an immediate return to the Premier League has prompted the best best betting sites to speculate on the futures of their star players likely to attract interest from major clubs in the summer.

Following the 1-0 loss to Southampton in the Championship play-off final, United chairman Paraag Marathe admitted some players would need to be sold in order to comply with Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Italy winger Wilfried Gnonto will almost certainly be leaving Elland Road and Crysencio Summerville is also likely to be on his way.

One of the Whites’ shining lights this season has been versatile teenager Archie Gray, who scored on his England U21 debut in March, having turned 18 less than two weeks earlier.

When asked directly about whether Gray would still be at Leeds when the summer transfer window closes, Marathe told Sky Sports: “It is too early to say.

“Obviously Archie is a tremendous player, as all the players who have put so much effort in for us, but every season brings change. I can't yet comment on it, but we'll see what happens.”

Despite committing his long-term future to Leeds last summer, Gray will almost certainly be a wanted man in the coming months, so we’re looking at potential destinations and the Archie Gray next club odds.

Youngster Could Become Kompany Man

Vincent Kompany made a shock move to Bayern Munich at the end of May, and Gray reportedly features high on the Burnley manager’s wish list once he gets his feet under the table in Germany.

The Bundesliga giants failed to win a trophy for the first time in 12 years and are expected to undergo a squad overhaul in the summer.

Bayern were said to be keeping tabs on the midfielder earlier in the year and signing a player of Gray’s calibre would be a declaration of intent for a club that expects success every season.

Bringing Gray to the Allianz Arena would be costly, but the Bundesliga giants proved they are willing to splash the cash if the right player comes along just as they did with the £82million signing of England captain Harry Kane which could rise to £100m.

Betting apps make Bayern the 5/4 favourites to land one of the best prospects in the country.

Gunners Eye Gray Swoop

Arsenal fell just short in their pursuit of the Premier League title and Mikel Arteta will be keen to bring in more quality in the summer to challenge Manchester City next season.

With doubts surrounding the future of Thomas Partey, the Gunners could be looking to strengthen in midfield.

The fact Gray is a homegrown player also adds to his appeal for Arsenal, who may lose goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale during the transfer window.

Gray would be a great addition to a squad challenging on European and domestic fronts once again and football betting sites have priced the north Londoners at 2/1 to bring him to the Emirates.

Dortmund And City Will Be Keen

Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund would love to sign another English gem like Jude Bellingham, and Gray would certainly fit the bill.

Dortmund have proved masters at nurturing young talent and can also offer Champions League football despite finishing fifth in the Bundesliga, so they would certainly appeal to an ambitious talent like Gray.

The Bundesliga outfit have been linked with a move for the Leeds star since November and the rumours do not seem to be going away, with UK bookmakers offering 5/2 that Gray will next end up at Signa Iduna Park.

Champions Could Raid Leeds Again

Premier League champions Manchester City are next in the betting at 3/1.

City wrapped up an unprecedented fourth successive title in May, but they are not a club to rest on their laurels and are likely to bring in fresh blood during the summer.

Their signing of Kalvin Phillips from Leeds on a six-year contract was a rare flop for the City hierarchy, but Matheus Nunes can hardly be categorised as a success, so they may decide to bring in another midfielder in the next few months - one with a long shelf life.

Reds And Blues In The Picture

A new era has begun at Liverpool under Arne Slot, who has big boots to fill following Jurgen Klopp’s decision to end his eight-year reign at Anfield.

The Dutchman’s focus on youth was a key aspect of his successful spell as Feyenoord manager and a player like Gray is bound to pique his interest.

Liverpool are one of several Premier League clubs thought to be interested in Gray and are 4/1 to sign one of Leeds’ prized assets.

Chelsea have work to do in order to balance the books and are expected to sell some of their players before they can bring in new recruits.

Enzo Maresca is close to replacing Mauricio Pochettino as manager at Stamford Bridge, having agreed a five-year deal, and he will have been impressed by Gray’s performances in Leeds’ home and away wins against Championship winners Leicester.

New betting sites make the Blues 6/1 to snap up Gray over the summer.

Villa And Magpies On The Fringe

Aston Villa will be playing Champions League football for the first time next season and will need to strengthen even further if they are to compete both domestically and at Europe’s top table.

Manager Unai Emery recently signed a new five-year contract and that stability at the club is bound to appeal to a player like Gray.

Villa are 7/1 to sign the teenager, who has played in central midfield and at right-back for the Yorkshire club this season.

Newcastle have financial pressures to deal with during the summer which could see the departure of star midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.

Eddie Howe has warned potential suitors they will have to offer £100m for the Brazilian which would go some way to paying Gray’s transfer fee.

United And Real Madrid Long Shots

Leeds fans would be gutted if Gray left the club, but the prospect of seeing him join their hated rivals Manchester United would leave them spitting feathers.

The past sales of Rio Ferdinand, Eric Cantona and Alan Smith to the Red Devils still rankles with the Leeds faithful, so the board will not want to risk antagonising their loyal supporters by selling to the other United, who are 14/1 to complete an unlikely transfer.

Real Madrid could be crowned champions of Europe for a record-extending 15th time to add to their Liga success, but they are just 14/1 to bring a second Englishman to their squad.

Bellingham has been an unqualified success since he joined the club from Dortmund last summer, but Real Madrid are likely to spend most of their transfer pot on bringing Kylian Mbappe to the Bernabeu.
