Crysencio Summerville missed out on promotion with Leeds but the best betting sites still expect him to be a Premier League player next season.

A bit-part player in the top flight last term, Summerville stepped up to the plate in 2023/24 and in April was named Championship player of the season.

No Leeds player can better his return of 20 goals and only Georginio Rutter (16) produced more assists than Summerville's nine.

Despite a brilliant campaign, the 22-year-old Dutchman's season ended in disappointment at Wembley where Leeds were beaten 1-0 by Southampton in the Championship play-off final.

Summerville is unlikely to want to spend another season in the second tier and United's chairman Paraag Marathe recently revealed there will be "trade-offs" during the transfer window in order to comply with Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Leeds reportedly owe other clubs around £190m in transfer instalments which means some of their star players like Archie Gray and Wilfried Gnonto could be sold to help balance the books.

Where will Summerville be plying his trade at the beginning of next season? We can reveal the latest odds offered by betting apps below.

London Calling As Chelsea Consider Swoop

Chelsea’s chaotic campaign ended on a high with five successive victories ensuring a sixth-placed finish, but the club’s American owners will hardly be satisfied with Europa Conference League football next season.

Mauricio Pochettino left the club by mutual consent after the final game and is set to be replaced by Leicester boss Enzo Maresca, who is fully aware of Summerville’s talent, having played in both of Leeds’ victories over the Foxes this season.

Todd Boehly and his consortium have splashed out more than £1 billion on new signings during their time at Chelsea and must be wary of falling foul of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.

The Blues fielded a youthful team last season and may stick with their policy of bringing in young players during the summer transfer window.

Summerville, 22, fits the bill in that sense, and football betting sites have cut the odds from 3/1 to 6/4 on Chelsea bringing him to Stamford Bridge in the next few months.

New Reds Era Could Prompt Summerville Signing

Liverpool’s new era under Arne Slot is under way and it remains to be seen in which positions he feels the Reds need to strengthen.

The club’s new manager may be familiar with his fellow Dutchman, even though Summerville left Feyenoord the year before he became their head coach.

Liverpool fans will also be familiar with Summerville, who famously scored a last-minute winner at Anfield in Leeds’ dramatic 2-1 victory during the 2022-23 season.

The Reds have plenty of attackers on their books already, but Slot may still want more options at the top of the pitch, bearing in mind Luis Diaz is reportedly a target for the Saudi Pro League.

The Merseysiders were 6/4 a week ago to sign Summerville, but those odds have since drifted to 10/3

Spurs And Villa On The Slide

Tottenham had been the favourites in this market at a price of 5/4, but they are now out to 8/1 with UK bookmakers.

Ange Postecoglou’s side missed out on Champions League qualification and the Australian will be keen to bolster his squad in the summer, including in attack.

Tottenham could do with a wide player who excels in one-versus-one situations and Summerville would be perfect from that perspective. The fact he can play on either flank would also appeal to Spurs, even though he does his best work from the left.

Aston Villa qualified for the Champions League for the first time and with Unai Emery having recently signed a new five-year deal, it’s clear that the good times are back.

Villa will need to add more quality to their squad ahead of another busy season fighting on two fronts, just as they did in the 2023-24 campaign when they reached the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League.

The Villans were 4/1 to snap up Summerville when the market was first created, but have since drifted to 9/1.

Magpies, Eagles And Hammers Outsiders

West Ham replaced David Moyes with former Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui at the end of the season.

The Spaniard favours a 4-3-3 formation and is not regarded as an attack-minded coach, preferring a possession-based game and slow build-ups.

Whether Summerville fits in with Lopetegui’s plans remains to be seen, but the Hammers are 10/1 to bag him in the summer – the same price as Newcastle and Crystal Palace.

Like Chelsea, the Magpies must be wary of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules. They may need to sell before they can buy this summer, which is one reason why they are outsiders to sign Summerville.

Improving Palace In the Frame

Crystal Palace made giant strides under new coach Oliver Glasner, who engineered a top-half finish on the back of six wins in their last seven games, including victories over Liverpool, Newcastle, Manchester United and Aston Villa.

The Eagles tend to look like a mid-table side when Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise are out injured, although whether they are still at Selhurst Park next season is open to question.

Summerville would provide more threat for a team that could do well next season if they can keep their star duo.

Fulham and Bournemouth have also been linked with a move for Summerville and are 14/1 with new betting sites to snap up the flying Dutchman.
