Tuesday's Wimbledon Predictions: The Panel's Best Bets And Tips For Day Two

Wimbledon Day Two Best Bets

Andy Murray's withdrawal from Wimbledon has put a dampener on Tuesday's proceedings at Wimbledon, but those watching the action at the All England Club will get to see several other former champions in action.

Novak Djokovic has won his fitness battle following knee surgery and begins his campaign for a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam title and eighth men's crown at SW19.

Two-time Wimbledon champion Murray was due to join Djokovic on Tuesday's card, only to pull out having failed to record from back surgery.

Murray is not the only home favourite with health issues, Dan Evans having also limped into Wimbledon.

Evans’ match against Alejandro Tabilo features among The Panel’s selections for day two of the grass court grand slam.

Using the best tennis betting sites, they’ve found four bets they like for Tuesday’s action with the four-fold paying over 8/1 with Betfred.

Dan Evans Vs Alejandro Tabilo Predictions

There are plenty of Brits in action on day two and while online bookmakers are strong on Cameron Norrie and the in-form Jack Draper moving on to round two, they are forecasting an early exit for Evans.

The 34-year-old is 2/1 to beat Tabilo in what has so far been a year to forget, Evans falling to 60th in the world having won just three tour-level games.

He split from his coach Sebastian Prieto in May and then suffered a knee injury when playing at Queen’s last month.

Evans expects to be fine to face Tabilo, but he’ll need to be on top of his game to upset the Chilean, who has taken a liking to grass.

He rose to a career-high ranking of 19th after winning the grass tournament in Mallorca recently, his second title of the year.

Not only is Tabilo in form but he’s a terrible match-up for Evans, who has struggled against left-handers like the South American in the past.

Evans has pulled plenty of rabbits out of the hat in the past but looks up against it here and probably should be an even bigger underdog.

The Panel believe Tabilo can win with something to spare and like his price on the game handicap markets to triumph by four or more games.

The Panel Tip 1: Alejandro Tabilo -3.5 Games Vs Dan Evans - 10/11 With Bet365

James Duckworth Vs Alex De Minaur Prediction

An all-Australian first-round contest has caught the eye of The Panel on betting apps as James Duckworth looks to upset Alex De Minaur.

De Minaur is a worthy favourite having won his second career grass court title at the Libema Open in the build-up to Wimbledon, but perhaps shouldn’t be as short as 1/14

That’s largely down to the form of Duckworth, who has won 10 of his 14 matches on grass this season.

He made the quarter-finals in both Stuttgart and Halle and had looked on course to qualify for Wimbledon, only to be upset by Mark Lajal in his final qualifier.

But Lajal showed in his first-round clash with Carlos Alcaraz that he’s a better grass court player than many expected and Duckworth shouldn’t be blown away by De Minaur.

He has an effective serve that should keep him in the contest, plenty of grass court experience and knows Davis Cup team-mate De Minaur well enough that he’s fancied to cover a massive 8.5-game handicap at 4/7.

The Panel Tip 2: James Duckworth +8.5 Games Vs Alex De Minaur - 4/7 With 888Sport

Yulia Putintseva Vs Angelique Kerber Prediction

The women’s draw looks extremely open after pre-tournament favourite Aryna Sabalenka withdrew due to a shoulder injury and plenty will fancy their chances of a deep run.

Yulia Putintseva will be one of those anticipating a decent challenge after an excellent build-up in which she won a third career title at the Rothesay Classic in Birmingham.

She’s been handed what looks a tricky first-round draw on paper against former Wimbledon champion Angelique Kerber, but the German is nowhere near the top of her game.

The 36-year-old has lost her last four matches, three of them in straight sets and has just seven wins to her name since returning from maternity leave at the start of the year.

Had this game been scheduled for one of the show courts, you might have worried about Kerber rolling back the years.

But out on court 12, The Panel expect Putintseva to dispatch Kerber convincingly.

The Panel Tip 3: Yulia Putintseva To Beat Angelique Kerber 2-0 - 11/8 With Bet365

Leylah Fernandez Vs Lucia Bronzetti Prediction

Former US Open finalist Leylah Fernandez has a tendency to blow hot and cold, but has caught fire on the grass this season and should have no issues overcoming Lucia Bronzetti.

The Italian has reached the final of Bad Homburg in the past so is to be respected on this surface, but has had a tough build-up and hasn’t shown much that will concern Fernandez.

The Canadian was runner-up at Eastbourne recently, beating Madison Keys along the way, and the 30th seed should have few issues sealing a place in round two in comfortable fashion.

The Panel Tip 4: Leylah Fernandez To Beat Lucia Bronzetti 2-0 - 4/6 With Coral
