Who Will Take Part In Celebrity Race Across The World?

Race Across The World was one of the best series of the year so far.

In May, the programme became the BBC's most widely-watched factual title of 2024, even defeating iconic TV star Sir David Attenborough's Mammals.

BBC bosses are looking to capitalise on that success by commissioning a second series of Celebrity Race Across the World, which has sparked speculation on betting sites about who might take part.

The regular series sees pairings quite literally race across the world, aiming to get from one checkpoint to another on a limited budget and without the use of mobile phones or air travel.

The first Celebrity Race Across the World series was won by broadcaster Alex Beresford and his dad Noel, and other contestants included McFly drummer Harry Judd, and All Saints star Mel Blatt.

But who could team up for a globe-trotting gallop in the upcoming season?

Anything But Dyer

If the BBC want to ensure the second celebrity series is anything but Dyer, they could do far worse than sign up former EastEnders actor Danny Dyer and his Love Island-winning daughter Dani.

The pair have dabbled in TV travel in Channel 4 travelogue Danny and Dani Do Italy, but this would be without the all-expenses-paid hotels and grub.

The father-daughter combo are 8/11 favourites on specials betting sites to take part in the series, while everyone's favourite couple Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash aren't far behind at Evens

The pair always seem to provide some comedy when they are on TV together, as ex-EastEnders star Joe has proved during a few cameos on Stacey's Sort Your Life Out show.

Joe has become a reality TV king since his Albert Square days, appearing in the likes of Dancing on Ice, Celebrity MasterChef, The Jump, and Celebrity Dinner Date, and it would be no surprise if he wanted to add Celebrity Race Across the World to his CV.

Traitors On Tour

Another of the BBC's top shows of the year was without doubt The Traitors. The ultimate game of deception had us all gripped in January when, for the first-time ever, a Traitor, Harry Clark, scooped the £95,000 prize pot.

Throughout the series, he worked alongside fellow Traitor Paul Gorton to dispatch some of the Faithful, before ultimately deceiving his pal.

However, the pair could be set to work together again, as they are just 11/8 on betting apps to team up for Celebrity Race Across the World.

What's more, if Scott Mills and Sam Vaughan - who got married just a couple of weeks ago - are looking for a free honeymoon, they could be perfect casting for the show.

The newlyweds are 2/1 to appear on the programme, just behind couple Kelly Brook and Jeremy Parisi (6/4), but in front of couple Max George and Maisie Smith (3/1).

Max and Maisie are big fans of a sun-soaked break, if the ex-EastEnders actress' Instagram account is anything to go by, and while Celebrity Race Across the World wouldn't be quite as relaxing, there are moments of downtime.

Captain's Quest For Kola

Ted Lasso actor Kola Bokinni, who plays AFC Richmond captain Isaac McAdoo in the Apple TV+ series, is one of the names who has been linked to the upcoming celebrity show.

He is 9/2 to team up with his sister DJ Yinka Bokinni, who took part in Celebrity Bake Off this year.

As well as Danny and Dani, other celebrity parent-and-child combos who might be in the conversation include Jeff and Freddie Brazier, who are 7/2, and Zoe Ball and her son Woody Cook (4/1) could also take part.

The BBC could partly make up for one of the most devastating soap double-deaths of all time.

EastEnders fans were in bits when producers killed off Rita Simons and Samantha Womack's characters Roxy and Ronnie Mitchell on New Year's Day 2017, and some have never quite recovered.

So, the BBC could at least get the pair back together for a Celebrity Race Across the World stint. They are 10/1 to do so.
