Prince William and Prince Harry were dealt another blow lately following the death of their uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes.

The British courtier - who was Private Secretary to William and Harry's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, from 1990 to 1999, and was married to their late mother Princess Diana's sister, Lady Jane Spencer - died on July 29.

While it's not yet known when Lord Fellowes' funeral will take place, his passing has sparked speculation that it could lead to a reunion between the estranged brothers.

Harry is said to have been close to the Fellowes family, and will therefore be likely to attend, but former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond believes it could lead to an "awkward" encounter  with William

She told OK! magazine: "I imagine Harry will want to be at his uncle’s funeral ... but his presence would cause all sorts of awkwardness if William attends too.

"It would be nice to think, though, that two grown-up men could at least be in the same space ... as they were at the coronation, albeit briefly ... without ruining an occasion of great sadness and solemnity."

A possible reunion between the warring brothers has also led to questions about when Harry might officially rejoin the Royal Family.

The Duke of Sussex stepped back from Royal Family duties in 2020 to start a new life in Los Angeles with his wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, but betting sites have been busy adjusting prices following the latest news.

Harry's 2026 Royal Return?

Earlier this year, it was 6/4 favourite for 2025 to be the year Harry rejoined the Royal Family, and he was 3/1 to reconcile with William this year.

But several months have since passed, and 2026 is now the 13/8 favourite on UK betting sites for Harry's Royal return.

It comes after royal commentator Michael Cole insisted Fellowes' passing will have "minimal impact" on the warring brothers' relationship.

He told the Daily Mail newspaper: "Robert Fellowes’ death will not affect family dynamics.

"Prince William and Prince Harry have always been on good terms with their late mother’s sisters and brother.

"Aside from extending their sincere condolences to their aunt Jane, the death of their uncle will likely have minimal impact on the two royal princes."

Harry's Homecoming A Long Way Off?

It previously looked like Harry could be gearing up for a Royal Family reconciliation, after a statement he made against the press in 2016 was deleted from the Royal Family's website, after being up on the site for seven years.

In May, PR expert Ryan McCormick thought the move might have had something to do with the Royals "laying the groundwork" for a reconciliation with the Duke.

However, since then there doesn't appear to have been many positive signs of a Harry homecoming.

That is despite Buckingham Palace confirming in February that his and William's father, King Charles, had been diagnosed with a form of cancer.

Just days later, Harry admitted such a tragic event could have a "reunifying effect".

He said on Good Morning America: "Look, I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him I'm grateful for that."

When quizzed on whether an illness in the family could have a "reunifying effect", the Prince said: "Yeah, I'm sure. Throughout all these families I see it on a day-to-day basis the strength of the family unit coming together. I think any illness, any sickness brings families together."

While there haven't been many recent positive signs that Harry will return to the Royal fold, it is just 5/2 that he does so in 2027 or later.

But with less than five months remaining of 2024, it has been pushed out to 6/1 on new betting sites and 2025 is 3/1.

Harry To Hold Firm

It's 10/1 on betting apps that Harry holds firm and doesn't ever rejoin The Firm.

It would be no surprise if Harry avoided a reconciliation in the next couple of years after what has been said in the past couple of years.

This includes Harry and Meghan's now-infamous tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, which featured several claims, including Meghan alleging William's wife, Princess Catherine, had made her "cry" over a flower girl dress ahead of her and Harry's wedding.

What's more, Meghan also claimed in the interview that during her time in the Royal Family there were "concerns and conversations" about "how dark" her then-unborn son Archie's "skin might be when he's born".

She didn't mention who had allegedly made the remarks, but it sparked a Palace witch hunt on social media.

What's more, Harry also spoke out about his family in a bombshell Netflix documentary series, and in his 2023 memoir, Spare.

The book featured several allegations about the Royal Family, including one claim that he and his brother, Prince William, once brawled over Harry's marriage to Meghan Markle.

While this almighty family quarrel has played out on the world stage for all to see, "never" is such a long time that even the biggest Harry and Meghan super-fan must expect a reconciliation one day.
