Andy Murray Odds: What Show Will Tennis Star Appear On Next?

After almost 20 years, three grand slam wins and two gold medals, Andy Murray has officially retired from tennis.

Britain's greatest ever tennis player didn't get the ending he craved as he and doubles partner Dan Evans were beaten in the Olympics quarter-finals by Americans Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul at Roland Garros.

An emotional Murray left the court and took to Twitter/X shortly after to post an amusing message to the millions of followers he has on social media.

So what now for Murray, who also led Great Britain to Davis Cup glory in 2015?

The best betting sites have switched their attention from pricing Murray up to win tournaments, to what challenge he will face next.

We take a closer look at Murray's options.

Murray's decision to retire came after a disappointing final appearance at Wimbledon, where he pulled out of the singles due to a back injury.

Elder brother Jamie joined him for the men's doubles tournament, but sadly they were eliminated in the first round.

Emma Raducanu agreed to team up with Murray in the mixed doubles, but a wrist injury forced her to withdraw, bringing a premature end to the Scot's final appearance at SW19.

Murray can expect a lot of calls from broadcasters hoping to persuade him to join one of their shows.

Traitor Or Faithful

Murray has gained somewhat of an unfair reputation over the years for being miserable and lacking personality, but he has shown a completely different side of himself on social media, highlighted by his tweet immediately after his final match.

While he may not be the life and soul of a press conference, and the same can be said for most pro tennis players, his quick-witted quips have cracked up his followers on social media.

Showing different sides of himself are some of the ideal attributes required to be a success on Celebrity Traitors.

Murray is just 6/4 on specials betting sites to join the cast of the star-studded version of BBC show The Traitors.

The programme, dubbed the "ultimate game of deception", sees contestants split into groups of Faithful and Traitors, and the aim of the game is for the Faithful to work out who the Traitors are, before the latter axes them from the show.

Another bonus for Murray is that the programme is filmed at Ardross Castle in his native Scotland, meaning he wouldn't have to leave his beloved nation for filming.

Murray To Serve Up A Treat Down Under

If the star is up for a TV appearance further afield then I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! bosses would surely be interested.

Murray is 2/1 on to appear in the next series of the Australian-based TV show, which is co-hosted by Ant and Dec.

The show runs until December and the former tennis star could remain in Australia for the lead up to January's Australian Open, if he agrees to be part of a broadcasting team covering the first grand slam event of the year.

His mother Judy, competed in the 12th series of the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing in 2014 and Murray is 5/1 to do the same.

While that would no doubt be a physical challenge, should Murray want an even tougher one, then an appearance on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins (3/1) could be more appealing.

Widely regarded as one of the most gruelling reality TV series around, last year's series saw celebrity recruits put through the most punishing stages of SAS selection by Chief Instructor Billy Billingham and his team of Directing Staff (DS), Foxy (Jason Fox), Rudy Reyes and Chris Oliver.

EastEnders Star Murray?

While reality TV bosses are likely to offer the tennis legend a spot on the small screen, that could also come from a fictional role.

Murray is no stranger to acting, having starred in an ATP Tour spoof video as a character called Fraser McKnight.

The star used his deadpan dry humour to create a character who joked about how the ATP Tour players receive storylines and "make everything look real".

In the clip, McKnight says: "We usually get our storylines at the start of the year, and we just try to make everything look natural.

"Let’s face it, people are stupid, so they’ll buy anything. We just try to make everything look real and the viewers seem to love it."

If British soap bosses have watched it, they may want to pick up the phone and give Murray a call.

Murray is 10/1 on betting apps to appear in the likes of EastEnders, Emmerdale or Coronation Street next, while it's 16/1 he lands a stage show role.

He also has game show experience after he was pranked on Michael McIntyre's Big Show, when the host woke him up in the middle of the night and began asking him questions to win money for Sport Relief.

Murray is 20/1 to host a game show, and just 25/1 on new betting sites to offload some of his ancient tennis gear on an episode of Antiques Roadshow.
