The second round of the French Open is scheduled to get under way on Wednesday, although the Parisian weather could have other ideas.
Rain interrupted the action on the outdoor courts on both Monday and Tuesday, and the soggy conditions may persist, potentially altering the day’s order of play.
Tennis betting sites have priced up all of Wednesday’s scheduled matches, though, and there are some humdingers in both the men’s and women’s singles.
In the men's, Jannik Sinner takes on home hero Richard Gasquet in the pick of the contests, while tournament favourite Carlos Alcaraz and former finalist Stefanos Tsitspias also take to the court.

Bookmakers don’t rate Osaka’s chances of an upset, pricing her at 12/1, and while that match deserves some extra attention from a sporting perspective, it’s one of the least compelling betting heats of the day.

Off-Court Attention Leaves Kalinskaya Vulnerable
Anna Kalinskaya is enjoying a breakthrough year, climbing to a career-high ranking of 24th in the world in February after reaching the Australian Open quarter-finals and the final of the WTA 1000 event in Dubai.
Interest in the Russian-born ace is set to go up significantly now, though, after Jannik Sinner confirmed his relationship with Kalinskaya after his first-round win at the French Open.
It’s hardly the ideal build-up to a testing second-round match with former world No 4 Bianca Andreescu and it may be worth opposing a distracted Kalinskaya, who looks too short on betting sites.
Andreescu won her first match in 10 months in round one at Roland Garros having been plagued by a back injury recently, but looked surprisingly sharp in that victory over Sara Sorribes Tormo, hitting 42 winners and serving well.
Clay isn’t the Canadian’s favourite surface, but it hasn’t been too kind to Kalinskaya, who has a losing record on the red dirt this year and struggled at times in her first-round match with Clara Burel.
Andreescu has the higher ceiling of the pair and could prove good value at 11/8.

Anisimova With Something To Prove
Another talented woman from North America on the road to recovery is Amanda Anisimova, who returned from a ninth-month break at the start of this year.
The American has been up and down since her comeback but did perform well to see off an in-form Rebecca Sramkova in round one in Paris.
Her reward is a meeting with Liudmila Samsonova, who is a pretty strong favourite on betting apps having enjoyed a good clay-court season, making the semi-finals in Strasbourg ahead of the French Open.
She demolished Magda Linette in her opening match, dropping just two games, but this should be a far closer battle against an opponent that beat Samsonova in straight sets at the Australian Open.
Samsonova is the form player but Anisimova has the superior head-to-head record and even in recent defeats on clay, she’s gone down fighting and taken a set off her opponent, suggesting this one could go the distance.

Don’t Expect Dimitrov Stroll
Switching attention to the men’s side of things and a resurgent Grigor Dimitrov meets the improving Fabian Marozsan in an intriguing second-round contest.
Dimitrov has rolled back the years to climb into the world’s top 10 and was never really troubled by Aleksandar Kovacevic in round one of the French Open.
The Bulgarian has lost just eight times all year and the bookies expect him to see off Marozsan, despite his growing reputation as something of a giant-killer.
He’s claimed the scalps of Casper Ruud, Holger Rune and Carlos Alcaraz recently, but recent results since beating Rune in Miami have been a bit more modest and he doesn’t enter this match in the greatest form.
However, he’s shown enough to suggest he can at least take a set off Dimitrov, who will find the size, power and shot selection of the Hungarian a challenge to overcome.

Veteran A Bit Of Value To Offer Paul Challenge
Fabio Fognini turned 37 last week but showed that age is just a number when getting the better of Botic van de Zandschulp in his first-round match at the French Open.
After a straight sets win over the Dutchman, the Italian has another upset in mind when he faces 14th seed Tommy Paul.
As an American who has recently shown he can play on clay, reaching the semi-final in Rome, Paul is a rare breed and he’s likely to be too strong for clay-court specialist Fognini.
But the veteran has plenty of tricks up his sleeve and has been very active in the lead-up to the French Open, playing twice as many matches as Paul on the surface before arriving in Paris.
Betway offers 17/20 that he wins at least one set, which is good enough for us to pin our hopes on him taking Paul to four sets at least.
