Last year’s semi-finalist, Ben Shelton, put on one of the best performances of the opening round, brushing aside Dominic Thiem 6-4 6-2 6-2.
The American will look to keep that momentum going when he takes on Roberto Bautista Agut. Shelton and Bautista last clashed in this year's Australian Open, with the American winning 6-2 7-6 7-5.

Carballes Baena is much more experienced in these conditions, and we suspect this may help him secure the win.
