17:25 Galway: Caesar Rock

It's fair to say Mouse Morris has tried plenty of times to get Caesar Rock home but he has found a weak looking renewal of the Latin Quarters Beginners Chase here and with the stiff Galway hill right up his street this modest chaser can put experience and stamina to good effect at the finish.

Each way play makes sense given the perfect eight runner field and that we have a double figure price. Merlin Giant  would be an obvious danger at this track given his CV but Caesar Rock will surely run his race and it might just be good enough at last for connections.

18:40 Galway: Yaxchilan

The 3-y-o Yaxchilan looks a lovely type to deliver a Galway winner for Dermot Weld and Chris Hayes.

Weld, a master of the set up in play here, debuted over 6f earlier in the month with a promising run and was a bit novicey when it mattered. Up a furlong today, tongue tie added and it should be all systems go.

No Knee Never has had a little more experience but it’s very likely Yaxchilan will improve plenty on second start and for a deep breath of Ballybrit air.

19:10 Galway: Blues Emperor

There's lots to like about Blues Emperor in the feature of the day at Galway, the Colm Quinn BMW Mile which runs a stiff mile and half a furlong by the time you hit the finish line.

Two pounds lower in the handicap than when running well last year without any luck, and if you watch the run earlier this month at Leopardstown, you can see Johnny Murtagh and the 5-y-o ready to roll once more.

Each way again given the great concessions you will get from the betting sites for such a big field, and with a bit of luck Blues Emperor will be bang there at the business end with plenty in favour this afternoon.

Suggested Staking Plan

The Panel suggest the following stakes for today's three selections.
