With her title rivals having fallen by the wayside on a dramatic day at the French Open on Wednesday, Iga Swiatek is no bigger than 1/4 to win her fourth French Open title heading into the women's semi-finals on Thursday.

Swiatek must barely have been able to believe her eyes when watching first Elena Rybakina and then Aryna Sabalenka bow out in successive quarter-final upsets against Jasmine Paolini and Mirra Andreeva.

With two of her biggest challengers gone, the world No 1 should have an extra spring in her step for arguably her toughest remaining opponent, former French Open finalist Coco Gauff.

Paolini and Andreeva are the unlikely semi-final pairing on the other side of the draw as The Panel take a closer look at both final four matches.

Iga Swiatek Vs Coco Gauff Prediction

Since being given a scare by Naomi Osaka in round two, Swiatek has raised her game to another level and has been a cut above the rest of the women’s contenders.

She made Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova look extremely ordinary in their one-sided quarter-final clash as she improved her record at Roland Garros to 33-2.

The only person who can seemingly stop Swiatek winning a third straight French Open title is the Pole herself, certainly judging by the odds for her clash with Gauff in the semi-finals.

Swiatek is a best price of 1/8 on betting apps to beat the world number three, who battled back from a set down to beat Ons Jabeur on her way to a third straight grand slam semi-final.

The American is one of the most tenacious players on tour and the former French Open finalist has had a pretty respectable season on clay. Against anyone else, she’d be a strong outsider.

But this is a bad match up for Gauff, who has lost 10 of her 11 previous meetings with Swiatek, including all four on clay.

All 10 of those defeats have been in straight sets and tennis betting sites have all their bases covered when it comes to another two-set victory for Swiatek.

Swiatek has shown a tremendous knack for exposing Gauff’s weakness on her forehand and even factoring in the American’s tremendous determination, she may lack the weapons to upset the reigning champion.

Swiatek appears to have had her wobble at this tournament in the match with Osaka and given her recent performances, The Panel believe she can win this without losing more than seven games.

Jasmine Paolini Vs Mirra Andreeva Prediction

What a fairytale run these competitors have been on and there's bound to be a few nerves when they step out on Philippe Chatrier for their first taste of a grand slam semi-final.

Andreeva took full advantage of an out-of-sorts Sabalenka in her quarter-final clash, and this may be the prodigious 17-year-old's first of many deep runs at major tournaments.

The Russian is the favourite on betting apps to back up her three-set victory over Sabalenka and form is on her side having beaten Paolini in straight sets when they met in Madrid in April.

Paolini produced some magnificent winners early on against Rybakina in her quarter-final but then had to dig in to become only the fourth Italian woman to reach a slam semi-final in the Open era.

Rybakina made 48 unforced errors against Paolini, who looked shaky down the stretch and struggled to contain her more powerful opponent at times.

The greater composure on Wednesday came from Andreeva, despite her age, and of these two semi-finalists, she appears more trustworthy in a pressure situation.

She also has a higher ceiling than Paolini, who is playing as well as she can do right now, and The Panel are happy to back Andreeva to advance to the final.

Andreeva Can Ace First Semi-Final Test

One of the advantages Andreeva has compared to the diminutive Paolini is her size and strength. She puts those to good use in her service game and the bar has been set too low for the number of aces she could deliver.

Rybakina fired down 10 against Paolini and Andreeva has served at least two aces in each match on her way to the semi-finals.

Her serve is arguably improving after sending down five aces in round four and four in the win over Sabalenka.

When the markets opened for this match, Andreeva's ace line was set at 2.5 but has since jumped up to 3.5. The Panel think she can still cover this number and pairing it with an Andreeva win pays 5/2 on bet365.

The Panel Tip 3: Mirra Andreeva Over 2.5 Aces - 8/13 With Bet365
