Benjamin Sesko Next Club Odds: Arsenal Favourites To Land Slovenian

Transfer season is upon us and Benjamin Sesko is one name who continues to feature prominently in the rumour mill and in markets put up by the best betting sites.

The Slovenia international is busy preparing for Euro 2024, but he will also be in regular communication with his agent about a possible transfer this summer.

Sesko, who currently plies his trade for RB Leipzig, is thought to be on the wish list of several major clubs from around the continent.

The 21-year-old striker scored 18 goals in 42 appearances for Leipzig in 2023/24. He has only spent one season with the German club so far, but he was previously on the books of their sister club Red Bull Salzburg.

Sesko is under contract at the Red Bull Arena until 2028, but Leipzig are likely to cash in for the right price.

Where might Sesko end up at the end of the summer transfer market? Let’s take a look at the candidates to sign him.

Arsenal And Chelsea Could Go Head-To-Head For Striker

Arsenal (6/5) and Chelsea (2/1) lead the race for Sesko as things stand, with the Gunners favoured by football betting sites

Mikel Arteta wants a centre-forward, when he hopes his side will finally win the Premier League title after finishing as runners-up the last two seasons.

Kai Havertz excelled up top in the second half of the last campaign, but Sesko is more of a natural centre-forward. As well as offering a goal threat, he is adept at linking up with his attacking colleagues.

Chelsea may also be looking to add a striker to their ranks after a mixed debut campaign for Nicolas Jackson. The Blues prefer to sign young players these days and, at 21, Sesko certainly has room to get even better.

Unlike Arsenal, though, they would not be able to offer the player Champions League football.

Manchester United And PSG Among The Contenders

Rasmus Hojlund showed signs of promise in his first season at Manchester United, but Erik ten Hag (or his successor), will likely want another option at the top of the pitch next season. Sesko could provide that, with United priced at 7/2 to land him.

However, the £72m fee they paid for Hojlund suggests United are willing to build their attack around the Denmark international. It would be strange if they splashed out a similar amount of money on another young striker.

Paris St-Germain are the fourth favourites at 4/1 to land the Slovenian. Kylian Mbappe’s departure to Real Madrid opens up a spot in Luis Enrique's attack.

Sesko does not play in the same left-sided role as Mbappe, but he would certainly add more firepower to the PSG ranks. The French champions have been linked with Sesko in the past, and most recently last month.

Tottenham And Milan Both Likely To Seek New Frontman

Tottenham Hotspur sold Harry Kane, their all-time record goalscorer, to Bayern Munich last summer. They chose not to replace him, instead deploying Son Heung-min and Richarlison at the top of the pitch. However, they may look to sign a replacement for Kane this summer.

Spurs are available at odds of 6/1 with betting apps to land Sesko from RB Leipzig.

Like Chelsea and Manchester United, they are not currently able to offer Champions League football, which arguably gives Arsenal an advantage.

AC Milan will be in Europe’s premier club competition next term and they can be backed at 13/2 to sign Sesko. However, the Rossoneri may struggle to match the financial package offered by English clubs and Paris St-Germain.

Liverpool And Bayer Leverkusen Outsiders To Sign Sesko

The Jurgen Klopp era at Liverpool is over, with Arne Slot now in charge at Anfield. He is not responsible for recruitment, though, and the indications are that Liverpool will keep faith with Darwin Nunez next season.

As such, it is difficult to see them paying the sort of money that RB Leipzig would demand for Sesko, one of their most prized assets. Liverpool are outsiders at 8/1.

So too are Bayer Leverkusen, who are available at 10/1. If the German champions can keep hold of Victor Boniface, their top scorer in 2023/24, they are unlikely to add another top striker to their squad this summer.

Moreover, the fact that Xabi Alonso is likely to depart next year means players like Sesko may be wary of committing their future to Leverkusen.
