Delaware Reports Robust June Results

Delaware Lottery is reporting another increase in revenue for the state’s online casino market for June – total net gaming revenue of just over $5 million.

May’s total was $3.9 million. Delaware Lottery oversees gaming in the state, generating income for the state’s General Fund, financing a variety of Delaware’s state services.

BetRivers App Powers All Three State Online Casinos

The latest report marks a steady increase in revenue reported since the beginning of the year.

In January, Delaware Lottery announced that it was partnering with Rush Street Interactive (RSI) to launch its first online sportsbook under the BetRivers banner, as well as rolling out a new menu of Delaware online casino games. January’s total net gaming revenue was $3.4 million.

Following a soft launch Dec. 27, Delaware opened its doors to the sportsbook, along with the re-launch of its three online casinos (Delaware Park, Bally’s Dover Casino, and Harrington Raceway & Casino).

Delaware Park generated $2.68 million in total net gaming revenue in June, followed by Harrington ($1.4 million) and Bally’s ($906,939).

Delaware Said No to Multiple Vendors

So, the BetRivers Casino online launch has been a boon for the state. There was some talk about regulatory changes allowing multiple vendors to operate in Delaware and offer online casino and sports betting, taking the state beyond the sole contract controlled by RSI.

However, House Bill 365, which would have authorized two skins each for the state’s three casinos, died when the state’s legislative session ended in June.

In July 2023, the first month of the 2024 Fiscal Year, total net gaming revenue was just under $1.2 million.
