Seven PA Players Busted for Fraud

Seven players in the Keystone State have been placed on the involuntary exclusion list after the Pennsylvania Gambling Board (PGCB) found them guilty of fraudulent acts while playing at PA online casinos.

Fraud Amounted to Almost $30,000

The PGCB announced in a statement that several online transactions conducted by these players at various Pennsylvania online casinos totaled $27,168. These activities were investigated by the Board’s Bureau of Investigations and Enforcement (BIE). The actions of three players were found to be fraudulent in the following ways:

  • Obtaining an online account in another person’s name using fraudulent means
  • Depositing funds into such accounts using other persons’ payment methods
  • Withdrawing the funds from the fraudulent accounts into their bank accounts without engaging in any gaming activity
  • Receiving a refund from a disputed banking card transaction from the card issuer even though the refund was fraudulent

They achieved the above by creating two separate wagering accounts under fake names while using other individuals’ banking cards to make a deposit. After that, they withdraw the same deposits to their own bank accounts without conducting any wagers. They did this by requesting illegal chargebacks.

Four other individuals were banned for various offences including theft, cheating, child endangerment, disorderly conduct and using counterfeit currency.
