Connecticut iGaming Revenue Drops in June
The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection has released their total gross online casino gaming revenue for June, at $33.7 million (online casino gaming revenue minus promotional deductions), a slight decrease compared to May. Still, year over year, the numbers point to a healthy market, showing a 34% increase compared to June 2023 ($25.4 million).
DraftKings Still Leads the Charge in Connecticut
The Connecticut online casino gaming and sports betting market fully launched in October 2021. There are just two online casinos – DraftKings and Mohegan Sun, operated by FanDuel. Players can tap into a wide variety of slots, table games and live dealer games in the state.
DraftKings continues to lead the way in the state - $17.4 million in total gross gaming revenue, with FanDuel at $16.1 million.
18% from online casino goes back to the state in Connecticut - $3.135 million in the case of DraftKings, $2.9 million in the case of FanDuel, for June.
Warmer Weather Draws Bettors Away from Online Gambling
Wagering in Connecticut has gone over a billion dollars ten months in a row. DraftKings has topped $650 million in wagers ten months in a row.
Tough to call the reasons for the slight dip in Connecticut in June. Summer is typically a time when bettors drift away from gambling.
Promotional spend for both operators in June – DraftKings was $4.1 million, while FanDuel was at $4.4 million.
