New York Rangers at St. Louis Blues Betting Analysis and Prediction
The New York Rangers will take to the road and take on the St. Louis Blues at 8 p.m. ET at the Enterprise Center.
The Rangers are in second place in the Metropolitan Division and the Blues are in the Central Division. The Rangers are playoff-bound, sitting in sixth place in the Eastern Conference, while the Blues are in fourth place in the Western Conference.
The Rangers are an outstanding 19-5-3 in home games and a solid 17-11-2 in road games this season. The Blues sport a 19-7-2 home record and are weaker than the Rangers in road games at 13-10-5 for the season.
The Guys Between the Pipes
The Rangers have one of the most outstanding goalies in the NHL in Igor Shesterkin, who is 28-6-1-22 and has a tremendous 1.93 average goals against for the season. He is 36-21 against the moneyline, 29-28 against the puck line and has a 17-11-2 Over-Under record. On the road, he is 17-11-2 and, as an underdog, a profitable 12-12.
The Blues have not confirmed their goaltender yet, but expectations are that Jordan Binnington will be announced and he is 13-12-1-2 with a 3.08 goals-against average. As a favorite, he is 24-8 and at home a stellar 19-7-2.
Shesterkin is going to be tested tonight, having to face the seventh-best scoring offense that is averaging 3.446 goals per game.
Even more impressive is that the Blues rank third in scoring efficiency with a 1.261. The Blues’ offense ranks third in the NHL, getting the puck into the goal on fewer than average shots on goal. Opponent goalies have saved 88.7% of the Blues shots on goal this season.
What Are the Analytics Telling Us?
The Rangers are 35-19 using the moneyline when facing highly disciplined teams that allow opponents four or fewer power play advantages this season.
The Rangers are 15-4 using the moneyline when coming off a game that wen Over the posted total and 13-4 using the moneyline when coming off a game in which seven or more goals were scored in total.
The Blues are 38-52 using the moneyline when playing their third game in the past five days in games played over the last two seasons.
They are also a money-burning 6-13 using the moneyline in home games following two or more losses in games played over the last two seasons.
I am going to the window to bet the Rangers getting plus money on the moneyline.
