WynnBET Starting Early Registration to Prepare to Go Live in Louisiana

As residents prepare for the launch of Louisiana online sports betting on Friday, sportsbooks are starting the early registration process so players can begin placing bets when mobile sports betting does go live in the state.

WynnBET Preparing to Go Live in Louisiana

WynnBet Louisiana announced on Tuesday that early registration and deposit are now available in the state.

“WynnBET's launch in Louisiana is just the beginning of an exciting few months for our company as we significantly increase our footprint during the first quarter of 2022," Wynn Interactive President Ian Williams said in a media release.

"Pending regulatory approval, we will also soon be launching our online sportsbook in New York and Iowa, expanding the number of states players can enjoy our platform from seven to 10. We look forward to welcoming new customers from across the country to WynnBET in the coming weeks."

WynnBET is offering Louisianans a state-exclusive registration offer. Players can bet $10 and win $250 if they complete early registration. They will receive $250 in bonus bets after their first $10 bet result when WynnBET is authorized to begin accepting wagers.

Louisiana’s Online Launch Could Be Soon

There is no definitive date for Louisiana’s online sports betting launch, but according to Ronnie Johns, chairman of the Louisiana Gaming Control Board, it could be in the coming days. Johns told Gambling.com the state is targeting internet sports betting to go live before the Feb. 13 Super Bowl. The Super Bowl is annually one of the most wagered sporting events in the year.

Johns told Gambling.com he plans to give the online bookmakers a two-day heads up before the go-live date so they can prepare to launch. But before giving the green light, Johns wants to ensure the geofencing technology works in denying sports betting in the nine of the 64 parishes that voted against sports betting in the November 2020 election.

According to Johns, Louisiana State Police troopers are completing the task of vetting the mobile applicants. Once that is done, Johns will sign the paperwork when given to him.

“The interest in mobile is unbelievable,” Johns told Gambling.com. “My phone rings every day.”

WynnBET Entering Louisiana

WynnBET is already live in Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Tennessee and Virginia. In addition to Louisiana, it also has plans to go live in New York and Iowa in the future.

WynnBET notes its marketing efforts in Louisiana will feature brand ambassador and former LSU star Shaquille O’Neal. The basketball hall of famer was announced as a WynnBET brand ambassador in August.

"I love working with my friends at Wynn Resorts and I am so excited to take WynnBET to new heights," O'Neal said in a media release. "Mobile sports betting is having a major moment, and I believe that WynnBET will be a powerful force in the industry."

Through the partnership, O’Neal will be featured in WynnBET’s advertising campaigns across TV, digital and print media. O’Neal will also attend in-person fan-facing events, create original content with WynnBET and interact as a guest with company media partners.

"Shaquille O'Neal has been a great friend of Wynn Las Vegas for many years, and we are thrilled to expand our relationship with him through a partnership with WynnBET," Wynn Interactive CEO Craig Billings said in a media release.

"A successful businessman, NBA legend and one of the most well-known personalities in sports media, we believe our players will enjoy interacting with him through the WynnBET app and are excited to feature Shaq in our advertising campaign."
