College football is off to an exciting start and with the SEC hitting its early season stride, the conference’s top quarterbacks are racking up passing yardage.
This includes some in contention for this season’s Heisman Trophy.
SEC's Top Quarterbacks
Each SEC team has played two games, except Vanderbilt, with three.
Nashville-based Vanderbilt opened the SEC regular season on Aug. 27 with a win at Hawaii. Since then, the Commodores (2-1) defeated Elon and lost to Wake Forest.
Heading into this week’s schedule, below are the SEC’s leading passers based on total yardage.
Nationally, Rogers ranks sixth in total passing yardage. The nation’s top three quarterbacks, including national leader Drake Maye of North Carolina (930 yards), have played one more game than the Mississippi State signal caller.
However, among quarterbacks who’ve only played two games, Rogers is third in the nation. This Saturday, the Rogers-led Bulldogs (2-0) travel to Baton Rouge to face SEC West rival LSU (1-1).
