North Carolina Sports Betting deadline for applications January 26

During Wednesday's session, the deadline was set for Jan. 26 for North Carolina sportsbooks applicants to submit their internal controls documentation. Sterl Carpenter, the deputy executive director for gaming compliance and sports wagering, highlighted this as a crucial step for applicants to gain compliance certificates and start their operations.

Sterl Carpenter Announces Deadline for Applications

Last week, the North Carolina State Lottery Commission convened to receive a progress report. This session largely mirrored the previous week's Sports Betting Committee meeting, during which committee members endorsed suggestions for independent laboratories and urged operator applicants to furnish internal controls documentation.

The Commission granted unanimous approval for both recommendations.

Looking ahead, the Sports Betting Committee of the Lottery Commission is slated to convene next on January 30.

Additionally, Governor Roy Cooper of North Carolina has expressed his goal to launch sports betting sites in time for the commencement of the NCAA men's basketball tournament. The tournament pairings are scheduled to be unveiled on March 17.

North Carolina Sports Betting Coming Soon

On Wednesday, January 10, the North Carolina State Lottery Commission advanced its efforts to legalize online betting in the state.

The state lottery commission has the authority to issue up to 12 interactive sports betting licenses to operators in North Carolina. With nine companies applying to be operators in the state, it appears that the establishment of 12 online betting operators is imminent, with partnership announcements forthcoming.

Online operators include:

While the governor aims to launch North Carolina betting apps in time for March Madness, the Commission did not deliberate on setting an online betting "go-live" date during Wednesday's meeting.

In the event of a delay in launching before March Madness, North Carolina boasts numerous professional franchises and significant sporting events across the state. This ensures that the eventual rollout of sports betting, accompanied by an abundance of North Carolina sportsbook promos, is poised for massive success whenever it takes place.

Other Playing Options Available in North Carolina

In North Carolina, the Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) landscape is notably distinct. Although no explicit laws endorse DFS, there are also no prohibitions. Consequently, DFS sites can function in the state without the need for special permits. This situation allows residents of North Carolina to engage in DFS games without encountering legal issues.

Sports betting in the U.S. is growing exponentially. We expect North Carolina to contribute to this growing market.
